Many of us want to go with a slightly larger washing machine simply because it gives you the option of putting in a bigger load, like a duvet or maybe your quilt. LG is one company that many people look at simply because it has a good name in the market; basically because they spend a lot of money on advertising, and because they offer some of the largest machines in the market. LG has always had a problem with balancing their loads, and the only people who have not had trouble with their machines are those who have taken the time to use a spirit level to find it a perfectly level base. Considering that most of us do not go to such extremes, be prepared to have an error anywhere in your wash cycle saying that there is a problem with balancing the load.

There seems to be a specific flaw with this model with regards to running at anything less than full capacity, and even experienced service engineers tell you off the record to cram it full of clothes if you want it to work well. Unless you want to do a load once every two or three days, this is not a feasible option.

For the price that you will pay for the LG, it might actually be a better idea to go with a Bosch or a Miele. People even say that the lower cost Whirlpool ones do not give you as much trouble as long as you get their stainless steel drum ones. Of course you may not get a 11 kg capacity, but then even a 7 kg one is sufficient for most families, unless you are looking for a washer for a commercial establishment.

The only good thing is that LG comes with a 10 yr limited warranty on their drive motor, but then what is the point of having a really reliable motor if the machine keeps spewing out errors.
